It has been my pleasure to know and work with Mayor Will Armstrong for many years. He is a strong proponent for making Victoria a place where our children, grandchildren and future generations will want to live and raise their families. He does not make hasty decisions but gives serious consideration before making a final decision.
Will has led the city through a great time of change, during which we have seen population growth and economic development through large and small business coming to our community. There have been huge changes in our schools. We suffered economic downturns during which state and federal funding for projects, still mandated by those governments, has been cut, leaving local governments to pay. And, lately, a real economic boom from the oil industry, which is still a large part of our economy.
Victoria has many good things happening today: entry of Caterpillar and its affiliates, planned development of streets and roads, downtown development and growth, and economic development coalitions with our sister city of Guerrero, Mexico, and with other communities interested in developing new projects such as olive orchards in Victoria.
Will's accomplishments definitely merit his re-election May 11. He is a true friend to all Victoria.
