Victoria College public service programs are highlighted in VC's spring 2013 issue of CareerFocus magazine.
CareerFocus features helpful career and college information, including an A-Z listing of the programs and courses offered at VC, the careers they lead to and estimated salary ranges.
The career toolbox section includes "The Perfect College Fit," with information for high school students to select the right school for them. It includes the 10 worst reasons for choosing a college and questions high school students considering a college should ask themselves. Other sections include tips for succeeding in college and favorite apps for college students.
This issue features VC's public service programs, which prepares students for careers in criminal justice, law enforcement, emergency medical services and firefighting.
The program spotlight section includes a look at Victoria College's Fire Academy and introduces Public Services Academies Director Kelly Phelps and student Lucy Avila, who recently graduated from the Fire Academy.
CareerFocus magazine is a free publication from Victoria College and serves as a resource to help students and workers in the Crossroads area plan and prepare for the future.
The magazine is mailed to households throughout VC's service area, including Calhoun, DeWitt, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Refugio and Victoria counties. Residents of Goliad County also receive the publication.
