Two Victoria men who police say are responsible for a string of convenience store robberies earlier this year were indicted Thursday.

John Lee Adams, 24, and Gabriel O'Neil Harris, 20, both of Victoria, were indicted on three counts of aggravated robbery.

The men were arrested - with Lamar Williams, 22, also of Victoria - on March 18.

They were accused then of brandishing a weapon while robbing a store in the 1800 block of Lawndale Avenue at 1:05 a.m. and a store in the 1900 block of Sam Houston Drive at 3:35 a.m. March 18.

Then, 10 minutes later, they robbed another store in the 2100 block of North Ben Jordan Street, police said.

Officers tracked them down after the victims, who were not injured, described the vehicle the men were driving.

Williams has not been indicted, but that does not necessarily mean the state does not have charges pending against him, said Eli Garza, Victoria County first assistant criminal district attorney.

Garza declined to talk about the specifics of the case because it is ongoing.
