May 17, 2013 at 12:17 a.m.

One woman was sent to a Victoria hospital after she rear-ended another vehicle on Zac Lentz Parkway on Friday morning. Kasey Butler was driving a red Ford Focus west on the Zac Lentz overpass near Lone Tree Road when a yellow Chevrolet Silverado heading the same direction slowed down for traffic, causing Butler to rear-end the truck, said Victoria Police officer Herschel Buck. The driver of the truck, Christina Higgins, was uninjured, and Butler was issued a citation for failure to control speed, Buck said. Butler was transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro where she was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
