Rising cost of everything makes living difficult

I am so disgusted with the rising cost of everything, especially taxes and insurance. Every year, home and auto insurance rises without the account holder ever filing a claim or getting a ticket. Health insurance premiums keep going up - so much for affordable heath care. You pay your premiums and can't afford to see a doctor. There needs to be insurance reform. And last but not least: property tax. Oh, they say there hasn't been a property tax increase in years, but when they keep raising the value of your home every year, the tax sure goes up. According to the appraisal district, the reason is because of the Eagle Ford Shale and the lack of housing for all the people moving into the Victoria area to work, which can drive up the price if you sell. I guess the county wants a piece of that pie, too. Well, that's not my fault. I grew up here, I've worked here my entire life, I don't get mailbox money, and I'd like to stay, but this is stupid. Because of taxes and insurance, we are asked to live on less and less every year. This mess has to stop. I'm not sure what the answer is, but I think everyone who had their property "value" increase again should contest it and show up at the appraisal district office for starters. I know I am.
