Palacios High School was named one of 10 public schools in the country as the Grammy Foundation's recipient of a $5,500 Grammy Signature Schools Community Award.
Cash grants awarded this year totaled $56,000.
The Enterprise Award category, under which Palacios High School was recognized, notes efforts made by schools that are economically underserved.
Grammy Signature Schools are made possible in part through the generous support of Best Buy, the Ford Motor Company Fund and the Hot Topic Foundation.
"For the past 15 years, our Grammy Signature Schools program has been providing much-needed financial resources," Neil Portnow, Grammy Foundation president and chief executive officer. "We're extremely grateful to our sponsors, whose generous support has allowed this initiative to grow."
Palacios High School was presented with their award Tuesday evening inside the Fine Arts Building's choir room.
