The Telferner United Methodist Church is conducting a prayer vigil for victims of the Moore, Okla., tornado from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Members of the community from all walks of life and faiths are welcome to attend the prayer service, which will be in a come-and-go setting, said the Rev. George Barcus.
"It seemed like the right thing to do more than anything. Members of the congregation have been at various times through various disasters," Barcus said.
He said church members will pray for victims and their families and celebrate those who have survived and the families who have been reunited.
They will accept donations for the United Methodist Committee on Relief, which aids in disaster zones and is aiding in Oklahoma.
