After running a red light Tuesday evening, an uninsured Victorian sent himself and two other Victoria residents to a hospital.

Clifton Bayer, Victoria Fire Department battalion chief, said three people, all adults, were involved in the wreck that occurred about 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of Ben Jordan Street and Houston Highway were taken to Citizens Medical Center.

Lloyd Barefield, 75, was driving east on Houston Highway when he ran a red light and struck a SUV driven by Lois Davis, 32, and a truck driven by Amanda Gutierrez, 33, said Officer Stephen Lang. The two other vehicles were traveling north on Ben Jordan Street.

Lang said Barefield may have had a medical problem. "He didn't know what was going on."

Barefield was ticketed for driving without insurance, and Davis was ticketed for having two unrestrained children in her SUV.
