The Victoria Generals' roster is set for Thursday's Texas Collegiate League opener.
The Generals added a pair of teammates from Southeastern Louisiana University and a catcher from Ranger College to put the finishing touches on the their roster.
Infielder Brett Hoffman and right-handed pitcher Kyle Keller will join the Generals from Southeastern Louisiana. Hoffman, a sophomore, hit .265 with two doubles and 16 RBIs in 52 games. Keller, also a sophomore, struck out 10 batters in 13 innings of work with a 1.38 ERA.
"Kyle will have the opportunity to come in and eat up a lot of innings for us this summer," said Blake Koch, the Generals vice president and general manager in a news release. "He's another good addition to our pitching staff.
"Brett gives us another solid bat from the left side," Koch added. "He is a versatile infielder and will give us the option of using him as a third or second baseman."
Aaron Morgan wrapped up his sophomore season at Ranger College. He will help fill a void after two other catchers qualified for the postseason at their colleges. Morgan hit .303 with four home runs, three triples and 10 doubles and 35 RBIs.
"Aaron will be a big help for us while we wait on our other two catchers to arrive in Victoria," Koch said. "He is extremely athletic and can help us some in the outfield as well."
C.J. Manning of St. Edward's University and John Bormann of UT-San Antonio will join the Generals later in the summer.
The Generals will hold their only team practice before the season starts Wednesday. They open the season at The Woodlands Strykers.
