Trio of Jaguars named NAIA All-Americans

Three Jaguars from UHV's softball team were named to the NAIA Softball All-American team that was announced Friday.
Third baseman Marley Moehrig was named to the first team after setting several single-season and career records in hitting for the Jaguars. Alex Holland earned second team honors and Brittany Arredondo earned honorable mention.
Moehrig, a junior, set career records in RBI (134), triples (9), home runs (22) and total bases (234). She also set single season records for triples (7), home runs (13), RBI (78), slugging percentage (.847) and total bases (144).
Holland, a junior, hit for .377 batting average in 53 games and had 12 doubles, six home runs, two triples and 47 RBI. She also posted a 9-3 record inside the circle with a 2.95 ERA and allowed 49 runs on 95 hits and 41 walks with 45 strikeouts.
Arredondo wrapped her senior season with records for runs (74) and hits (82) while batting .436 batting average. The Canyon Lake native leaves UHV with career records in hits (151), batting average (.442), multi-hit games (44) and assists (244).
