Voters reject Ezzell school district bond

Voters denied issuing a $4.129 million bond for Ezzell school district.

Ezzell proposed the bond to renovate existing buildings and purchase new ones.

It also needed additional buses, according to the ballot.

The proposal would have raised the tax rate by 29 cents. The owner of a $100,000 home would pay about $290 more before exemption. The tax rate is currently 9.523 cents per $100 valuation.

The school is on Farm-to-Market Road 531 in Lavaca County.
