EDNA - Edna athletic director and head football coach Mike Pierce refused to comment Wednesday about a school district investigation of an assistant coach.

Pierce confirmed a complaint had been filed against the coach by a parent who alleged the coach pushed his son during halftime of last week's game against Hallettsville at Cowboy Memorial Stadium.

Pierce said it was his understanding a complaint had also been filed with the Edna Police Department.

Pierce said no action had been taken against the coach and he was still with the team at Wednesday's practice.

Neither Edna interim superintendent Donald Egg nor Edna High School principal Demetric Wells was available for comment.

The Cowboys wrap up District 14-2A, Division I play Friday against Rice Consolidated at Altair.
