A South Dakota man who was injured Friday in a Goliad County crash that claimed the lives of two Victoria men was in stable condition Saturday, said a hospital spokeswoman.
Steven Cornelius, 65, and Julia Cornelius, 58, both of Sioux Falls, S.D., were northbound on U.S. Highway 59 near Berclair when a southbound vehicle crossed into their lane, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Gerald Bryant.
The couple were taken by ambulance to Christus Spohn Hospital in Beeville and later moved to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi. A nursing supervisor said Julia Cornelius is not registered at the hospital.
Stanley Parry, 58, and Brett Morgan, 46, both of Victoria, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Victoria Mortuary and Cremation Services is handling funeral arrangements for Parry, and a memorial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church. Arrangements are pending for Morgan at Grace Funeral Home.
