An Edna man was stabbed to death by his cousin early Sunday morning, Police Chief Clinton Wooldridge said.

Olin Anthony "Champ" Robinson, 29, died in the Jackson County Hospital on Sunday after he was stabbed two times in the upper torso, the sheriff said. The victim's cousin, Almaad Robinson, 21, also of Edna, is in custody.

Wooldridge said the cousins were attending a birthday celebration in the 200 block of West Elm Street when Olin Robinson was stabbed at 12:30 a.m.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Darren Stancik.

Wooldridge said Stancik issued a warrant for Almaad Robinson's arrest on charges on first-degree felony murder.

Almaad Robinson turned himself in to authorities at 10:37 a.m. Sunday, where he was booked into the Jackson County jail.

The stabbing incident is under investigation, Wooldridge said.
