Quiltgiving Ministry looking for volunteers
Oct. 1, 2013 at 5:01 a.m.
The First Presbyterian Church, 2408 N. Navarro St., will host a Tapestry Quiltgiving Ministry every Saturday in October at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
The group will be making comfort quilts to be donated to the Victoria Police Department for first responders to comfort those in need at times of distress or trauma.
Everyone is welcome. Many hands are needed to make the quilts - cutting, sewing, pressing, piecing and tying knots.
All sizes of material and batting may be donated. Material should be 100 percent cotton and free of smoke and pet hair.
For more information or to make reservations, call Mary Ann Oakley at 361-578-4502. Bring your sewing machine, quilting materials and a brown bag lunch.
