Boy earns rank of Eagle Scout, has 27 badges

Zachary Walker, a member of Boy Scout Troop 230 in Katy, recently earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Zach began scouting as a member of the Cub Scout pack based out of DeLeon Elementary in Victoria.

Zach has earned 27 merit badges and has held numerous leadership positions, including patrol leader, chaplain's aid, assistant senior patrol leader and senior patrol leader. He has participated in two high adventure camps, Philmont Scout Ranch and Sea Base. He has attended summer camps in Oklahoma, Missouri and California during his time in scouting.

For his Eagle Service Project, Zach coordinated and led an environmental project designed to create awareness of the impact of pouring hazardous waste down storm drains.

Zach is the son of Chris and Jo Walker, formerly of Victoria, and the grandson of Leonard and Bennie Walker, of Victoria; Fredline Pagel, of Victoria; and the late Dudley Pagel. Zach is a senior at Cinco Ranch High School in Katy.
