The Friends of the Guadalupe Elementary booster club will be holding its fall festival Saturday in efforts to raise funds for Guadalupe Elementary - one of the Victoria school district's four rural elementary campuses.

The booster club will be selling barbecue chicken plates, hold a raffle, a live action, provide entertainment for children and a cakewalk.

The nonprofit organization strives to provide for the students of Guadalupe Elementary School, wrote club member Ryan Barnett.

"We have this fundraiser every year, and it's our largest one," Barnett wrote in an email. "The proceeds go toward our kids and helping them prepare themselves for a better education and activities."

The club provides funding for the advanced reading curriculum, the campus spelling bee contest, the science fair, Christmas programs, library books, mentoring, teacher supplies and projection mounts, wrote Barnett.
