If you want an honest, if profanity-laden, opinion, look no further than Eddie Griffin.

He tells it as he sees it, no holds barred.

He's got every topic covered - and a solution to the government shutdown.

Griffin chatted for a few minutes with Get Out about his upcoming comedy show at the Golden Gecko.

Is there any role you've had that's been your favorite role?

I'd have to say "Foolish" with Master P, "The Walking Dead" (1995) and "John Q" with Denzel Washington. The humor wasn't over the top. It was more organic to the character's personality and the situation.

Texas tends to be a little bit more conservative sometimes and ...

... I don't give a damn. I'm going to do the Eddie Griffin show, the way Eddie does the show. If you've got thin skin, you're at the wrong (expletive deleted) show - don't buy a ticket. That's the beauty of freedom in America: If you don't like it, turn it off.

A lot of people love your comedy, but for you, has there ever been something where you feel you've crossed the line? Do you ever feel there's some sort of subject you can't talk about?

No, there is no such thing as taboo; it's comedy. It's not serious. If you take (expletive deleted) too serious, then you (expletive deleted) up the whole world. That's the problem with them (expletive deleted) children in Congress who can't get (expletive deleted) done.

They all need to sit down and have a shot of Patron.

How do you think this should all be handled?

They should all be locked up in jail and charged for treason for crimes to the citizens of the United States because that's just what the (expletive deleted) they're doing. How the (expletive deleted) are you still getting paid and ain't doing the job?

Frustrating topic for sure, and there are people on both sides of that one, too.

Whatever. "Obamacare" is the mother (expletive deleted) law. Now go about it the right way. You can't shut the government down because you don't like the law. The (expletive deleted) law passed. It's democracy. Mother (expletive deleted) need to stop being sore (expletive deleted) losers and get to (expletive deleted) work and then come up with a better (expletive deleted) idea and throw it on the floor and get voted on like everybody else. Stop being a (expletive deleted) about it.

Are there any comedians you looked up to growing up?

Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and George Carlin. They all took the chance to tell the (expletive deleted) truth. They gave it to you straight.
