One person was transported to a hospital Thursday afternoon with minor injuries after a two-vehicle wreck near the intersection of Navarro and Warren streets.
Margarita Aguilar, 19, of Victoria, was southbound on Navarro Street just after noon when she began slowing to a stop because of traffic, said William Bernard, an officer with the Victoria Police Department.
Victoria resident Janie Clay, who was driving a navy blue Ford Explorer, failed to stop and struck the back end of Bernard's vehicle.
Clay later fled the scene but returned after Bernard was able to locate and contact her through her license plate number.
Aguilar was taken to Citizens Medical Center, where she was treated and released, said a hospital spokeswoman.
Clay will be issued a citation, Bernard said.
