Two Port Lavaca men were in custody Friday in the Lavaca County Jail on suspicion of burglarizing a home and evading arrest.

Sheriff Micah Harmon said a resident on Lavaca County Road 205, which is about 3 miles north of Hallettsville, came home about 2 p.m. Thursday and discovered the men inside the garage. The suspects fled, but a neighbor later told authorities about a suspicious vehicle in the area.

Deputies found the vehicle and a woman inside who told authorities that she had been dropping the men off to commit burglaries, Harmon said.

Authorities kept the vehicle and the woman under surveillance, and when the two men returned, deputies converged on the vehicle. The men fled but were eventually captured after a search conducted by the Lavaca County Sheriff's Office along with officers and canines from the Texas Department of Corrections Stevenson Prison Unit in Cuero.

Arrested were Jace Francis Lancaster, 17, and Colton Lee Lancaster, 24, who both are being held on suspicion of burglary and evading arrest.

Harmon said the woman, whose name was not released, is being investigated in connection to the burglary. She was not in custody Friday night.
