UHV men finish fourth at Northwood Shootout

CEDAR HILL - The UHV men's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a fourth-place finish at the Northwood Fall Shootout, a year after finishing last in the same tournament.

The Jaguars posted a 299 final round, but fell back one spot when Bethany College (Kan.) shot a 284 team total.

Wayland Baptist took first place with a 4-under 860, 18 shots of second place Texas Wesleyan. UHV finished with a 32-0ver 896.

Vance Edwards and Steven Jones tied for 17th overall in the individual standings, Nick Ver Elst finished 19th at 224, and William Truss ended in a tie for 27th after shooting a 228 for the tournament. Rudy Trevino finished 80th with a 240.

In the fall season, the Jaguars won one tournament and finished second at another to go along with their fourth-place finish Tuesday.
