Year of Faith - XXVI Annual Conference for Catechesis and Ministry

Sept. 13, 2013 at 4:13 a.m.

In this Year of Faith, the XXVI annual Conference for Catechesis and Ministry will be held at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 28 at Holy Family of Joseph, Mary and Jesus Catholic Church, 704 Mallette Drive.

Dr. Thomas H. Groome from Boston College will offer the keynote address "Will There Be Faith?" The Challenge of Catechesis in Our Time and Mrs. Maria Apac Smith from St. Mary's University will offer a Spanish keynote address El Reto de la Nueva Evangelizacin para hoy.

The conference offers the opportunity to open the door of faith and continue the journey of discipleship. We live in extraordinary times. Our lives have been changed dramatically by 21st century technology, but the basic hunger and thirst to be fully human, fully alive still remains.

The quest for meaning in life and the longing for a relationship with the living God persists. More than ever, the mission of evangelization must continue by witness and by opening the door of faith for all who seek to know Jesus.

The one-day annual diocesan conference is open to all adults. Come and hear presenters talk about a variety of topics. A multitude of workshops on various topics will be provided throughout the day.

Catholic vendors and publishers will have religious articles, prayer books and an assortment of resources available for purchase. The conference will conclude with the Most Reverend David E. Fellhauer celebrating the Sunday liturgy.
