Who is your role model and why?
My grandfathers are my role models because they are part of history. On the Telles side, my grandfather joined the Confederacy and fought under Robert E. Lee. My ancestors lost a tract of land, about 1 mile wide by 18 miles long, in the 1848 treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. He fought because Lee promised to return the family land if the South won the war. People need to realize that our ancestors fought for reasons that are part of American history. My other grandfather, Pedro Mireles, was murdered in front of his house over a land issue.
