The 2014 Adams Pro Golf Tour is in full swing at the Victoria Country Club.
The Toucan Pro-Am was Tuesday, and the team of Derel Reeves, Raymond Norman, Rick Kurtz, Rocky Meyers and Mark Walker took first place with a 112 team total.
The pro-am is the opening event for the Bob White Rentals Victoria Open. The first round of play is set to begin Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. The last groups to tee off are set for 2 p.m. A total of 112 golfers are set to compete at the Victoria Country Club over four days. The final round is set for Saturday.
Five of the top golfers in the player of the year standings of the Adams Pro Tour will be competing in Victoria. The top two golfers - Anthony Broussard and Ryan O'Rear - have been paired in the same three-man pairing. They, along with John Kimbell (ranked 27th in the same standings), will tee off hole No. 1 at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Three golfers will be playing on their home course this week when Jonathan Allen, Perry Farley and Joe Mitchell Jr. compete in the 19th annual tournament.
Last year, Garrett Driver won the tournament after shooting a 5-under 279 to win the tournament. Other past champions returns in 2014 are Brian Rowell (2012) and Blake Trimble (2011).
Amateurs Nick Ver Elst, Zach Garbe and Andrew Barrera will also look to take home the first-place trophy.
The Bob White Rentals Victoria Open is the third event of the season for the Adams Pro Tour. Bobby Massa and Chris Ward have won the first two events and will both look for their second win of the season.
The Victoria Country Club's golf course totals 6,856 yards, and par is 71. The field of 112 golfers will be cut to the top 35 percent after 36 holes, including ties.
