Man attempts to rob convenience store, flees

Victoria Police Department officers are looking for a man who attempted to rob a discount store in the 2600 block of North Laurent Street on Wednesday.

A man wearing blue jeans, a black muscle shirt, dark-colored baseball cap and black sunglasses entered the store about 10:40 a.m. and demanded money from the clerk, according to a police department news release.

The man did not display a gun, but the clerk said a silhouette of a weapon on the waistband of the man's pants was visible.

When other customers entered the store, the man was startled and fled.
