Refugio QB, Calhoun RB selected for all-star game

Refugio quarterback Travis Quintanilla and Calhoun running back Cory Williams will play one more game before ending their high school football careers.
The seniors have been chosen to play for the South squad in the Texas High School Coaches Association's All-Star Game scheduled for 7 p.m. July 22 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
Quintanilla was named the Class 2A player of the year on both the Associated Press Sports Editors and Texas Sports Writers Association all-state teams. He was the Built Ford Tough Class 2A Player of the Year.
Quintanilla set state records for career passing yardage (13,832), career touchdown passes (184), season passing yardage (5,557) and season touchdown passes (68) while leading the Bobcats to the Division II state final.
Quintanilla has accepted a scholarship to play football and baseball at Texas A&M-Kingsville next season.
Williams returned from a knee injury and rushed for 2,271 yards and 32 touchdowns and helped lead the Sandcrabs to the Class 4A, Division II semifinals for the second time in school history.
He was a first-team selection at fullback on the Texas Sports Writers Association all-state team.
Williams will play football next season at Eastern New Mexico.
The South squad will be coached by El Campo's Bob Gillis and his staff.
