Generation TX Day celebrated across state

Generation TX Day is being celebrated across the state of Texas all day Friday. Those choosing to participate in this event will wear a college T-shirt.

GenTX Day celebrates and congratulates the students of Generation TX, especially graduating high school seniors. As students take their next steps toward realizing their futures, communities across Texas are coming together to applaud their successes and support them as they go on to college and begin career training.

To join in the GenTX Day movement and get involved, you may do the following: • Wear a college T-shirt Friday and encourage friends, family and colleagues to do the same.

• Change your profile picture on Facebook to one of you wearing a college T-shirt.

• Submit your favorite GenTX Day photo to the Victoria Advocate's GenTX Day photo contest by 5 p.m. May 9. Submit the photo to by going to "Your Photos," then "Add Photo," and under the category GenTX Day 2014, upload your photo.
