For the second consecutive year, Parkway Church will host a two-day Christian leadership conference, the Global Leadership Summit, becoming one of more than 200 locations around the nation to participate in the summit.
Aug. 14 to 15, Parkway's pastor, the Rev. Mike Hurt, said the faith-based simulcast will link Victorians into a digital simulcast from Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago with a network of world-class leaders teaching a variety of topics for people of all career backgrounds.
"This is as much for stay-at-home moms as it is for CEOs. There's a message of leadership through the summit, and it applies at every level," Hurt said.
The summit simulcast offers 14 sessions and features a variety of speakers, including Jeffrey Immelt, General Electric president and CEO, and Tyler Perry, filmmaker, actor and director of "Madea."
Those in Central and Eastern time zones will experience the conference in real time while those in Mountain and Pacific time zones will view the conference with a two-hour delay.
"Summit is a great conference with values-based leadership that works everywhere we lead: at home, work or in the church," Hurt said. "It also provides Christian leaders an opportunity to invest in their staff and build character and integrity."
Hurt said this year is the 20th anniversary of the Global Leadership Summit and more than 220 premier host sites will be plugging in.
Registration is required for the event and a discount code, GLS14UR, is offered exclusively to Victoria residents for the discounted ticket price of $95 per person.
