The residents and staff at Twin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Victoria would like to thank the Jackson County Airport International Aerobatic Club of Edna. July 20, we proceeded to attend a scheduled air show with the guidance of activity directors Jaime Mejia and Maggie Torres. However, upon arrival, they were informed of a miscommunication and, to their dismay, the air show ended the day before. We were saddened for our residents who had so looked forward to the show, but what happened next was unforgettable.
Thankfully, some of the pilots from the show were still there. The pilots as well as the owners and staff of the Jackson County Airport walked over to our van full of residents and asked them if they would still like to not only see the airplanes but a show as well. Owners Rick and Kim McClure, their staff, Courtney and Sam Beacham, Juan Campos and Cory Dubose went out of their way to show our residents the airplanes. Pilots Debby Rihn-Harvey and Denny Beacham then performed a special aerobatic show for us.
The generosity of the aerobatic's club did not stop there. Behind the scenes, a delicious barbecue luncheon, complete with watermelon and good ole sweet tea, was prepared and served to us.
We want to recognize these amazing, generous hearts and the hospitality they shared with us. We feel the airplanes were not the only ones with wings that day.
This was a great experience for our residents that they will always treasure. May God bless them all.
