A grass fire burned about a half-acre of land Tuesday at the Port of Victoria.
The fire started when embers from a welding site at the dock hit the grass, Victoria County Fire Marshal Ron Pray said, noting dryness in the area. Firefighters with Victoria, Lone Tree and DaCosta responded to the blaze, and the fire was put out within 10 minutes.
