Fashionable Girl's Guide: Shoe scores at the mall

This means long days of sitting in my car for two hours, sitting in an office for seven, then getting back in my car for two more.
This is especially challenging for me because I do not like to sit for long periods of time.
I like to be active, and being stuck indoors all day - with no fresh air - drives me nuts.
When I finally make it home, I generally want to do one of two things: crawl into bed or hit the bike trail for a ride.
Last week, I had one such day when I just needed to get outside.
So when I got home, I kicked off my shoes, grabbed my bike and proceeded to spend an hour melting in the delightful 98-degree heat.
It was fantastic.
When I got home, however, I found that my wonderful dog, Stella, had taken it upon herself to chew up one of my favorite sandals.
I had two choices: throw a fit or go shoe shopping.
I opted for the latter.
It's no secret that I love shoes.
I have so many that I literally have one entire closet dedicated just to shoes. It may be my favorite room in my house. However, I do not consider myself a shoe snob. I love them all from the cheapest to the most expensive.
In fact, Payless is one of my Top 10 places to shoe shop. Seriously.
Several of my most complimented shoes are from Payless.
They are comfy, cute, and if they decide to fall apart or my dog engages them in battle, I probably only paid like $20 to $30 for them, which makes it slightly less heartbreaking.
Plus, if I only wear them once, I have still gotten my money's worth.
I'll let you in on a little secret: If you find a style of shoe that you want to try out but aren't sure if you really like them or if they will work for you, look for that style at Payless.
Chances are they will have something in the category you want, and if they don't work, you haven't wasted $150 on shoes you will never wear again.
So, in light of my personal shoe tragedy, I gathered myself and headed for the mall.
To quote my father (and possibly "American Pie") "Thank you, God, for this wonderful, wonderful day."
I hit the jackpot.
Not only did they have the same sandals my darling fur-child demolished, but they were on sale. Score.
Naturally, I couldn't stop there.
I mean, I had gone all the way out there; I might as well take a look at everything.
I found some really adorable pumps, and you know I love a good heel.
I was immediately drawn to these nude-colored peep toes.
They are a great neutral and will go with just about anything. The decorative strap across the toe takes them from ordinary to unexpected.
Admittedly, I am also a sucker for a great shoe in a fun color. When I saw these adorable yellow cuties, I just couldn't help myself. (I may have an illness).
How fun are they for summer? With Labor Day coming up, I was already imagining the possibilities.
I would like to thank Stella for these fabulous finds.
She has been warned that if she so much as looks at them and licks her lips, she may be wearing them attached to her collar. I'm kidding - mostly.
