Colonel Keith E. Muschalek is retired from the U.S. Army effective Oct. 1. A retirement ceremony at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., on June 25 celebrated Col. Muschalek's more than 27 years of active Army service and his six-and-a-half years of service in both the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and the U.S. Army Reserve. He was presented the Legion of Merit medal for his career Army service, which included more than 11 years of foreign service in Germany, Japan and combat zone tours in Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Col. Muschalek will begin working in private industry upon his retirement. He is the son of Robert and Estella Muschalek, of Yorktown.
