Victoria College will host a Vocational Nursing Program Information Night in Hallettsville to provide prospective students with information regarding the application process, requirements of the program and financial aid.

The event will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday at the Zelda L. Allen School of Nursing, 1410 N. Texana St.

"We'd like to invite anyone interested in becoming an LVN to our Information Night to learn about the Vocational Nursing Program offered through VC," said Tricia Grahmann, Vocational Nursing administrative assistant. "We'll discuss the application process including some recent revisions, requirements of the program, and we'll have some financial aid specialists on hand to offer information on the financial aid process and discuss options."

Students can receive a Vocational Nursing Certificate after successfully completing 45 credit hours and will be eligible to take the National Licensure Exam for Practical Nurses.

In the Golden Crescent region, licensed vocational nurses are in high demand and earn an average of $18.21 per hour, or $36,000 a year.
