The 10th annual Victoria Empty Bowls event will be in the Victoria College Student Center and Fine Arts Building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

The annual event raises money for local organizations that feed the community, such as The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, Christ's Kitchen, Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry and Victoria County Senior Citizen Center, said Debra Chronister, Empty Bowls event co-chairwoman.

Proceeds also go toward a Victoria College Visual Arts Scholarship, she said.

Guests pick a ceramic bowl made by Victoria College art students and community potters and fill the bowl with soups donated by Victoria area restaurants and caterers. Each bowl is $15 and includes soup, bread and a drink.

The work of Steven Branfman, a well-known potter, will be displayed in the Fine Arts Building gallery, Chronister said. Branfman will also be at the event.
