A Port Lavaca man was arrested Tuesday after causing a five-vehicle wreck on state Highway 35.
Pascual Gerardo, 23, was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license with previous convictions and accident involving damage more than $200, said Sgt. Eric Salles of the Port Lavaca Police Department.
Gerardo crashed into the back of a 2007 Toyota Camry that had stopped at a red light at the state Highway 35 and North Virginia Street intersection, causing it to strike a 2011 Ford pickup. The pickup then struck a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado.
No injuries were reported. All the vehicles were southbound.
Gerardo attempted to leave the scene and side-swiped a tractor-trailer at the intersection before crashing into a palm tree, Salles said.
