Forty projects will be judged at the 75th annual Yorktown FFA Stock Show that begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

"We just built a new show barn, so this will be the first year in the barn," said Brad Metting, Yorktown agriculture teacher and Future Farmers of America adviser.

"Although we're down from three steers in last year's show to one this year, the number of projects is roughly the same," he said.

In addition to the steer, the projects include 22 hogs and 17 lambs.

The auction begins at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Ag Show Barn, 331 W. Main St.

The brisket, chili and bean cook-off sponsored by the Yorktown FFA begin at 9 a.m. Saturday.
