Victoria Extension Education Association's 2013 Annual meeting and Christmas luncheon were held recently at the Victoria Electric Co-Op. VEEA Chairwoman Carrol Davig presided over the meeting.

VEEA's Treasurer Ruby Sellers presented Incentive Awards to the EEA clubs, Raisin-Coletoville, Telferner, Everready and Pleasant Green, which sold pecans and peanuts during their fundraiser project. Everready EEA had the most new members for 2013 and also won the prettiest decorated table contest. Door prizes were won by members and guests.

Raisin-Coletoville was recognized as the club of the year. Jo Ann Bone, club president, accepted the engraved plaque. Club members have participated in various projects during the year. Donations were made to: Mid-Coast Family Services, holiday donations of food and gifts for women and children residing at the Women's Crisis Center, Medina Children's Home, the food bank, Meals on Wheels, Bluebonnet Youth Ranch and the volunteer fire departments in Nursery and Raisin. Also, clubs were involved in several countywide extension programs and the Texas Extension Education Association projects of work. Their educational contributions consist of collections of pull tabs along with coloring books and crayons for 4-H projects, Box Tops for Education, serving as judges for the VEEA scholarship contest and members helping implement a county VEEA program with the Master Gardner program on plants.

Entertainment was provided by Conny McKelvey and Roma Dell. Lunch was catered by The Grapevine Cafe.

The four Extension Education Association clubs donated several boxes of food to the food bank. Any persons interested in obtaining information concerning any one of the clubs, call Everready, Gloria Cook at 361-578-8586; Pleasant Green, Alice Ferguson at 361-573-3644; Raisin-Coletoville, Jo Ann Bone at 361-578-7629 and Telferner, Ann Hagel at 361-564-7392.
