There's a new food truck on the road.
Instead of hitting the city streets, the Boom Town Food Truck will be visiting oil-field sites to offer those in the field a hot meal.
"I saw the opportunity to take the kitchen right to the oil-field workers providing fast, made-to-order food," Daniel Gallo, manager of Boom Town Food Truck, said in a news release.
It will hit Kenedy, Runge, Helena and Karnes City beginning Friday. The menu is set to include fresh, handmade burgers and hot sandwiches and off-beat side dishes such as a spicy corn salsa, fried pickles and fried mac 'n' cheese bites.
Up to 10 percent of food sales will be donated to a number of children-focused charities, according to the news release.
