Editor, the Advocate:
I am writing to tell everyone about Leslie Ann Werner and why they should vote for her for judge of County Court-at-Law No. 1.
Many of you have heard about Leslie's many years of legal experience and her board certification in appellate law. What you may not know is what a caring and compassionate person she is - qualities that would well serve the people of Victoria County.
Not too long ago, I was looking for a female attorney to help me get a divorce from an abusive husband. Leslie came highly recommended. I hired her, and she helped me get my divorce. Several months later, I was faced with a life-threatening medical situation requiring emergency care well beyond my ability to afford. Without hesitation and at personal financial sacrifice, Leslie stepped in and paid for my medical care. I truly believe I would not be alive today were it not for her.
Candidates speak of their knowledge and ability to handle certain kinds of cases. I believe there are other qualities a judge should have - kindness, selflessness, empathy, character - traits that Leslie has in abundance.
I urge you to vote for Leslie Ann Werner for judge of County Court-at-Law No. 1.
