Wendy McHaney, owner of Senior Helpers of Victoria and Corpus Christi, has been elected as a representative of the MidWest region on the 2014 Senior Helpers Owners Council. The owners council consists of 21 owners from across the country whose purpose is to represent their fellow owners at regional and national meetings.

Karen Sanders was named the November Employee of the Month at the University of Houston-Victoria. She is the senior budget analyst in the UHV budget office and has worked for UHV since 1995. Sanders received a framed certificate and a $50 gift card.

Shawn Brett was named the December Employee of the Month at the University of Houston-Victoria. He is the senior applications programmer and developer for the UHV student affairs office. He has worked for UHV since 2004. Brett received a framed certificate and a $50 gift card.

Regency Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers awarded administrative assistant and project assistant to Windsor Construction Renae Rolette as December's Employee of the Month. Rolette spearheaded the corporatewide Angel Tree Program this year, which provided Christmas gifts, food and Christmas trees to three local families.

Victoria College has hired a number of new faculty and staff for the fall and spring semesters. New employees include: Tanya Baker, Academic Foundations English instructor; Carrie Dominey, physical plant administrative assistant; Jim Flynn, accounting clerk; Elias Guerra, campus security officer; Minerva Munoz, custodian; Grayson Grigsby, admissions and records analyst; Sandra Morris, vocational nursing instructor; Alan Rasco, allied health coordinator/instructor; Sandra Rippamonti, curriculum and instructional design specialist; Katherine Rodriguez, Academic Foundations administrative assistant; Corey Sturm, biology instructor and Claire Vivian, part-time academic coach.
