Ashley Furniture HomeStore is furnishing a new space - a clearance outlet.

The vacant space between the showroom and the Gold's Gym Express will soon be home to a new 15,000-square-foot Ashley Furniture HomeStore Outlet.

"We wanted to offer Victoria scratch-and-dent prices," said Ben Streiff, 36, Ashley Furniture HomeStore co-owner.

The new Ashley Furniture HomeStore Outlet is set to open in mid-March and will feature discontinued, one-of-a-kind items, mismatched and floor models offered at clearance prices along with slightly damaged items that come directly from the manufacturer.

The store, Streiff said, is always searching for new styles and technology, so they usually offer those items through one of their quarterly tent sales.

"They (manufacturers) discontinue furniture really frequently," said Paige Streiff, 32, who owns the business with her husband.

About once a month, the store receives one or two items that are no longer being manufactured, she said.

Opening the Ashley Furniture HomeStore Outlet also will free up space on the main showroom floor, which means more room for new furniture.

The outlet will be have an entrance off the parking lot and will be connected to the main showroom.

"(Opening) right next to the store makes complete sense because you can go into the store and look at the new, or you can go inside the clearance outlet and buy the stuff you need immediately," said Paige Streiff.

When the clearance store opens, the company will need to hire new salespeople and warehouse personnel. Ben Streiff expects to start hiring for the new positions in February.

The Streiffs are also planning a grand opening celebration for the public.

"We want to offer something for everyone," he said. "We have something for the college student on up to the high-end furniture."
