Editor, the Advocate:
I saw a picture in Wednesday's edition of the Victoria Advocate that mentioned 40 Victoria College Associate Degree Nursing students who recently earned their nursing pins. As a VC graduate from the ADN program and a nurse of 20 years, I want to say congratulations on such an amazing achievement. Being a nurse isn't an easy job, but it is a rewarding career. Knowing that you can help someone heal and comfort them in a time of need is a great responsibility, which opens the door for compassion and strength within yourself.
Currently, I work at K&L Consulting, a Regency Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers affiliate as the Corporate Education Coordinator.
I see nurses enter the field of health care and grow into the core backbone of our business. Nurses become the day-to-day face for our rehabilitation patients and long-term residents. Wherever your specialized skill takes you, I truly wish you the best. It is a good feeling knowing that Victoria College is graduating strong nurses to support our community.
Good luck in all of your future endeavors.
