Thumbs-up to Portia Schneider for her letter to the editor stating America needs to turn back to following God. It's time America wakes up.
Thumbs-up to Portia Schneider for her Christian letter (way to go, Portia) on the editorial page Jan. 18 and to the Victoria Advocate for printing her article.
Thumbs-down to the city's decision to stop furnishing barricades for nonprofit parades. They provide free entertainment and increase tourism, sales taxes and make Victoria more livable.
Thumbs-down to the noise near my home that is torture and abuse of a disabled senior citizen with cancer. The city of Victoria needs to enforce the noise Ordinance Law No. 20 - "making or continuing or causing to be made or continued or permitting or allowing to be made or continued where the same is capable of being controlled within reasonable limits of any loud unnecessary or unusual noise or any noise which would either annoy or disturb a person of normal nervous sensibilities."
Thumbs-down to the ear-assaulting racket the local H-E-B stores consider music.
