A downed utility line near the intersection of North Nimitz and East Red Rivers streets caused a power outage early Saturday for many residential and commercial customers in Victoria.

Victoria police were at the scene, keeping traffic from crossing the line. How the utility line came down was not immediately available.

The power went out about 12:15 a.m. Saturday. AEP utility officials are trying to restore power to an area just west of the Victoria Collage campus along Red River Street.
