A Victoria woman was arrested Wednesday on a Refugio County warrant charging her with hindering prosecution.

Carol Beerwart, 45, is accused of helping Leo Click Jr., 43, to flee the state, Deputy U.S. Marshal Max Hernandez said.

A Refugio County grand jury indicted Click in November. He is accused of causing a wreck on state Highway 35 on Aug. 18 that killed two people and injured six others.

Beerwart was a passenger in Click's 2012 Dodge Ram pickup during the wreck, according to earlier reports.

She was arrested while she was working at a cafe near Mountainburg, Ark. She is Click's girlfriend, Hernandez said.

This happened about an hour after the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force, Texas Department of Public Safety investigators and the Western Arkansas Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Click in the 11000 block of Revis Hill Road in Mountainburg, Ark., Hernandez said.
