The Texas Department of Transportation will convert the U.S. Highway 183 and Farm-to-Market Road 237 intersection in Meyersville to a four-way stop Monday, spokeswoman Helena Wright said.

Traffic in all directions will soon stop at that intersection, she said.

Before, traffic on Farm-to-Market Road 237 stopped, yielding the right of way to traffic on U.S. Highway 183.

"The traffic volumes have increased significantly over the past years, and now, both roadways carry the same amount of traffic," she said.

Flashing lights will be posted on U.S. Highway 183 before the stop signs to warn motorists of the change, Wright said.
