Generals keep Cane Cutters scoreless

The Victoria Generals kept the Cane Cutters scoreless in the first game of a short series Tuesday in Youngsville, La., and won 2-0.

The first run was scored in the sixth inning when Alvaro Rondon hit a triple that brought in Justin Pacchioli, who had hit a single before stealing second base and taking third base on a Cane Cutter error, according to a release.

Rondon went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Outfielder Brian Portelli hit a ground out, bringing in Rondon for the second and final run of the game.

Portelli went 1 for 4 with an RBI.

Ty Schlottmann pitched the first eight innings for the Generals (19-8). He delivered four strikeouts, one walk and allowed four hits.

Jeff Chesnut picked it up in the ninth inning and allowed one hit.

Cedric Vallieres, David Paiz Jr. and Pacchioli went 1 for 4.
