Generals take down Cane Cutters 7-1

After going scoreless in the first two innings, the Victoria Generals jumped ahead by five runs Sunday against the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
The TCL team never relinquished the lead and ended up winning the game 7-1 and splitting the two-game series with the Cane Cutters.
The Cane Cutters scored its lone run in the sixth inning by shortstop Kennon Menard.
The Generals' Kyle Danford went 3 for 3, scored two runs and three RBIs. Cedric Vallieres went 2 for 4 with one run scored and one RBI.
Kris Looper pitched six innings, striking out four batters and allowing four hits. Stuart Springer stepped up in the seventh inning, striking out one batter and allowing two hits.
The Generals will take on the Brazos City Bombers for a two-game series at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Riverside Stadium.
