A truck struck a home occupied by three people late Sunday in Queen City.
The crash was reported about 10:35 p.m. at a home at 709 E. Warren Ave. in central Victoria.
Abelino Gonzales, 57, was driving a red Chevrolet pickup in an alley when he came across a ditch and slammed into the east side of the house, a Victoria police officer said.
Gonzales is accused of driving while intoxicated and was being transported to Victoria County Jail, police said. Additional charges are pending.
Charles Young, 41, was inside the home when the crash occurred and detained the man until police arrived. He said he was there with friends talking about the World Cup. Two other people also were inside the home.
Young sustained a leg injury during the incident, but the other two people were not hurt.
"I couldn't let him go because he could have hurt someone else," Young said, "so I decided to detain him."
