Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry hosting raffle to raise funds for food, services

Victoria Christian Assistance Ministry is hosting a raffle to raise funds to provide food and other support services for those in need in Victoria County.
Tickets are $5 each or six for $25 and may be purchased from any board member or at the ministry's office, 108 N. Liberty St., from now through Aug. 25. Office hours are 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday.
The drawing of the winning tickets will be at noon Aug. 29 at H-E-B, 1505 E. Rio Grande St. Winners need not be present to qualify.
Prizes include $3,000 in H-E-B gift cards, $1,500 in Visa gift cards, gasoline cards donated by New Distributing and gift certificates to Devereux Gardens, Olive Garden Italian Restaurant, The PumpHouse Riverside Restaurant and Bar and Sky Restaurant.
The ministry was established in 1986 to provide food for the hungry. Today, the ministry continues to operate as a safety net for families and individuals in crisis or need, providing supplemental food and, when funds are available, assistance with water bills, rent, prescription medication and transportation for medical purposes.
